European Commissioner for Enlargement Stefan Fule has made his remarks on a written request over the demolition of statue to peace erected in the Turkish city of Kars: “The European Union is deeply concerned about the demolition of the only statue to peace dedicated to the Armenian-Turkish relations. Neither the commission, nor any statesman can define the aesthetic value of the statue. To demolish a piece of art is a very serious decision.”

The municipality of Kars adopted a decision to demolish the statue and erect another one on its place which will be dedicated to cheese.
