PM Tigran Sargsyan received remarks on Thursday during Government session from Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsyan over the earthquakes jolting Armenia recently.

“If once only 3-5 quakes magnitude three and more were recorded in Armenia, in 2011 fifteen earthquakes were recorded, and three quakes have been recorded this year,” Minister Yeritsyan said adding that the number of devastating earthquakes has grown in the world.

Minister assesses the situation as alarming. There are 150 observatories in Armenia. On February 17 Minister Yeritsyan will be hosting meeting with scientific-technical council and seismologists to focus on this issue.
