Armenia’s leading telecommunications operator supports education for students from socially vulnerable groups in Armenia.
VivaCell-MTS continues the “Education Fund” project. This year the Company has allocated AMD 180 million to cover the entire tuition fee to 200 more students from different universities. This project that supports first and second year students with special needs, orphans and/or those from needy families was launched 4 years ago. During this period, VivaCell-MTS has allocated more than AMD 349 million, with 500 students having already benefited from the project.
“In some cases, the reward of investments is evident. The education sector is not subject to these rules. Moreover, it requires major investments and much patience. Supporting long-term projects is especially important for the prosperity of the country and the success of future generations. We encourage students to develop and fully use their intellectual potential. For VivaCell-MTS, caring is integrated into the corporate culture,” said VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian.
This unique scholarship aims at providing these students with a supported access to university education by covering their tuition fees during the whole period of their study without worrying about how to cover the education expenses. It will help boost their educational attainment and improve their social and psychological conditions, the company’s press service reported.
