Storm brings chaos in British cities
Thunderstorms, hail and flash flooding threw parts of Britain into chaos this morning as southeast England's dry spells ended with a bang, The Daily Mail reported.
While many parts of the country are expected to be fine today, commuters in southeast England were this morning caught in lightning strikes, torrential downpours and hailstorms.
In Brighton a lightning strike threw rail services into chaos after it caused electrical supply problems, while commuters also struggled through a storm - with hailstones reported to be the size of 20p coins - which was described as like a 'zombie apocalypse'.
Despite this, the majority of Britain is set for reasonable weather for the next few days with temperatures remaining in the early to mid 20s before rain returns to large parts of the north later in the week.
The fire service said on Twitter that 50 houses were also affected by flood water in the area.
