Armenian parliament speaker meets with residents of border villages
A group of Armenian MPs visited Tavush province of Armenia on August 16-17, the press service of parliament reports.
The delegation included National Assembly speaker Galust Sahakyan, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, head of Heritage parliamentary faction Ruben Hakobyan, Ishkhan Khachatryan from Orinats Yerkir faction, Levon Zurabyan from Armenian National Congress, Gurgen Arsenyan from Prosperous Armenia and Gagik Melikyan from Republican Party of Armenia.
The MPs met with servicemen on duty on the frontline positions of Movses village. They praised the soldiers for their courage while repelling enemy attacks.
Further, Galust Sahakyan met with the residents of Movses village. Addressing problems faced by border villages, he said that the government will do everything to resolve them.
“Now all political forces have united over a common idea, defense of the homeland. You are part of the Armenian army, so when necessary, we will rise together to defend our homeland,” the NA speaker said.
