Lyubov Kazarnovskaya: Master classes showed there are gorgeous voices in Karabakh, and I care little about notes of protest
Operatic soprano Lyubov Kazarnovskaya conducted master classes in Stepanakert musical college as part of the Tndjre international music festival, Caucasian Knot website said.
“The master classes showed there is potential, there are gorgeous voices and good teachers in Karabakh. Hard work is needed to reach good results. This in turn requires a center where singers can hone their operatic skills. I understand that the war interrupted the development of vocal art, but the time has come to help young talents, “Kazarnovskaya said.
She said at a press conference in Stepanakert that she intends to participate in a number of music projects in Karabakh, in particular she will be involved in the staging of Verdi’s Requiem and the establishment of a school of operatic art – jointly with Culture Ministry of Nagorno Karabakh.
According to the website, Kazarnovskaya was told that after visiting Karabakh, she will be declared a persona non grata in Azerbaijan. The singer replied she did not receive a note of protest neither a year ago, during her first trip to Karabakh, nor currently. In her words, she cares little about such things because she does good deeds by helping young talented people.
