President Sargsyan attends celebrations of 2700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan participated today in the celebrations marking the 2700th anniversary of the city of Etchmiadzin, according to the presidential press service.
The president went to Vazgen Sargsyan Square located near St. Hripsime Church to attend the unveiling of Monument to V. Sargsyan. He laid flowers at the monument.
The head of state then visited the construction site of a sports complex where he participated in the foundation stone laying ceremony and familiarized himself with the projects of a sports school construction and the neighborhood improvement.
As part of the celebrations, Serxh Sargsyan also visited the recently renovated arts school after E. Tadevosyan. He became familiar with the work done and the conditions in the school designed for 300 pupils.
In Etchmiadzin, the president also paid tribute to the memory of the heroes who lost their lives for Artsakh’s liberation and laid flowers at the monument honoring the Artsakh heroic battles.
The president also attended a festive event held in the Etchmiadzin town hall to celebrate the 2700th anniversary of the city.
