Luis Milla no longer Spain's U-21 coach

The Royal Spanish Football Federation has confirmed in a statement that it has decided "not to renew Luis Milla's contract" as the head of the Spain under-21 team, after the side's poor run at the London Olympic Games, Marca reported.

The decision comes after the team managed by Luis Milla failed to achieve the objectives set for the Olympic tournament, in which Spain played once again after a 12-year absence, but failed to win a game. The Spain team produced two defeats and one draw in three games and failed to score a goal.

The next two games for the under-21 team, which will be played on 6th September in Sion against Switzerland and 10th September in Alicante against Croatia, will be managed by Julen Lopetegui, the current under-19 coach.
