German Foreign Minister: We are looking forward to meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents to be held in Paris
“Germany is closely monitoring regional conflicts, including Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said at a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijani information agency APA reports.
The minister said that they had been dealing with Ukraine for months, but they are also concerned about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “We are looking forward to the meeting of Azerbaijani and Armenian presidents to be held in Paris on October 27 and hope this meeting will end up with thawing of frozen positions and lead to a lasting solution to the conflict,” he said.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry also added that the European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus is an experienced German diplomat.
