David Chapman denied parole

Nearly 30 years after Mark David Chapman shot former Beatle John Lennon, Chapman has been denied parole.

Chapman was sentenced to 20 years to life in prison for killing Lennon in 1980. He'll next be eligible for release in 2012.

It was the sixth try at freedom for the former maintenance man.  He has been denied parole every two years since becoming eligible in 2000.
