India: bus crashed into river

At least 17 were killed and a further 35 are feared dead after a bus crashed into a river in central India, police say.

Rescue teams were searching the river for survivors after a bus plunged into a river when trying to cross a flooded bridge on Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred 100 kilometres from the city of Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh. About 25 people – of the 70 to 80 passengers on the bus - have been rescued so far.
