Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaksutiun) decided to nominate Vahan Hovannisyan, NA vice chairman and member of Dashnaksutiun bureau, during the presidential elections 2008 in its 11th Supreme Assembly. Today at 11:00. 60 delegates voted for Vahan Hovannisyan and 16 for Armen Rustamyan. Three delegates voted for both.

Before the voting, Armen Rustamyan put down his nomination and appealed his party fellows to vote for Vahan Hovannisyan. However, because something like that was not postulated by the regulation, the delegates also voted for Rustamyan. May be that was the reason for the great difference in votes received by the two.

The pan national 5 day voting showed a turnover of 288,697 citizens with 53 % of votes for Vahan Hovannisyan and 47 percent for Armen Rustamyan.
