MP: Entry into Customs Union is in national security interests of Armenia
The President’s decision [on joining the Customs Union] is in the interests of our state and homeland and there is nothing more important than national security, especially as our country is surrounded by enemies, member of RPA parliamentary faction Mkrtich Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
The MP noted that new laws will be adopted in Armenia in connection with the entry into the Customs Union, which will allow native producers to use the opportunities of the large CU market, something which, according to him, proves that the decision to join the CU is also justified economically.
“Armenia-Russia strategic partnership is equally beneficial to both Armenia and Russia. Russia also has great interests in the Caucasus. These relations are mutually beneficial,” Minasyan concluded.
