April War hero Hrach Galstyan would have turned 26 today

Today marks the birthday anniversary of April war hero, Senior Lieutenant Hrach Galstyan. He would have turned 26 today.

On 2 April 2016, during the military operations carried out in Talish, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR), Hrach Galstyan fought against a large group of the hired Azerbaijani saboteurs to his last bullet destroying many militants of the adversary.

He heroically fell on April 3 being posthumously awarded with the Medal of Courage of the Republic of Armenia.

Hrach Galstyan was from Armenia’s Gyumri city. He graduated from the Military Institute after Vazgen Sargsyan, later on beginning his military service in Talish, where Hrach got married.

In the morning of April 2, Hrach Galstyan got his wife and family members safely out of Talish village and saw them off to Armenia.

Hrach’s 18-year old wife Anush was pregnant with their first child when his husband fell victim. The hero’s daughter –Anahit – was born one month after her father’s death.

To note, seven of the soldiers fell during the April four-day war were from Armenia’s Gyumri city – Vladimir Melkonyan, Meruzhan Stepanyan, Aleksan Arakelyan, Victor Yuzikhovich, Hrach Galstyan, Gevorg Vardanyan, and Tigran Abgaryan.
