Average air temperature to be 4-5 degrees higher than normal over the coming days
High temperature is predicted in the territory of Armenia on August 11-15, the Hydro-Meteorological Service of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported on Thursday.
In the daytime, up to 38...39 degrees above zero and a high risk of fire is predicted in the valleys of Syunik, in Yerevan and Ararat Valley. The daily average air temperature will be 4-5 degrees higher than normal.
According to the source, on August 11, the index of ultraviolet rays is predicted to reach 7, so it’s recommended to avoid direct sunrays from 11:00 to 17:00. Long-lasting physical work under the direct sunrays can cause sunstroke.
On August 11-15, in the Republic no precipitation is predicted. Southwest wind speed is 3-8 m/s. The air temperature will go down by 1-2 degrees, then it will not change considerably.
In capital city Yerevan, no precipitation is predicted. In the evening hours, the wind speed may exceed up to 15-20 m/s.
