Armenia leads at the FIDE World Youth Chess Olympiad after two rounds played
Armenian Youth Chess Team (U16) tops the table at the FIDE World Youth Chess Olympiad underway in Ahmedabad, India after two rounds played. As the National Olympic Committee reported, the Armenian team led by GM Artashes Minasyan comprises Aram Hakobyan, Shant Sargsyan, Davit Mirzoyan, Mamikon Gharibyan and Anna Sargsyan.
In the first round our layers claimed a victory over Sri Lanka by 4:0 and defeated Israel by 3:1 in round two. Our team has scored equal points with five other teams, however tops the table on additional units. In the third round our team is facing India.
The tournament attended by 28 states will conclude on December 18.
