Prime Minister Karapetyan extends condolences to Uzbek counterpart
Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan sent a condolence message to Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov on the deadly passenger bus fire in Aktyubinsk region of Kazakhstan, which claimed the lives of several citizens of Uzbekisatn, the government's press office reported.
“I was deeply shocked to learn about the tragedy in Aktyubinsk region of Kazakhstan. Asking you to convey my deepest condolences and sympathy to the families and friends of the victims, I wish the injured a speedy recovery,” the top Armenian official said in the message.
To remind, the tragedy occurred on January 18 morning on the Samara-Shymkent road. 52 people were burnt alive when a bus burst into flames. Only five people managed to flee the fire.
Earlier President Serzh Sargsyan sent a condolence message to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan over the bus tragedy. Asking his Uzbek counterpart to convey his sincere condolences and words of sympathy to the families and friends of the victims, the Armenian president wished the injured a speedy recovery.
