Armenian citizens arrested after fake gold bars sold in Tbilisi
Georgian Police announced the arrest of two citizens of Armenia after an investigation into the sale of fake gold bars in the Georgian capital Tbilisi, reported Apsny.ge local news site.
According to the law-enforcement release, the suspects allegedly sold the fake gold cubes, weighing 100 grams and worth $4,000 each in the vicinity of the Tbilisi railway station.
The bars turned out to be a gold-painted brass bar made of various metals, the Police said, adding a criminal case on swindling was opened with the suspects facing imprisonment up to 9 year if convicted.
