Armenia is not always able to provide a counterweight to the developments underway around the world, yet it should closely follow them, the Head of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Armenian Cause and Political Affairs Office Kiro Manoyan told a press conference on Monday.

"That is the case first of all when it comes to Syria. The country has turned into a battlefield for not the settlement of own issues, but rather certain forces have shifted their confrontation to the territory of the Arab Republic," Manoyan asserted.

The second disturbing issues is the U.S stance on Iran. 

Speaking of the remarks by Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan at the Munich Security Conference saying under potential new circumstances, a new document is to be negotiated between Armenia and Turkey, Manoyan suggested the Protocols on the establishment of relations between Armenia and Turkey signed back in 2009 are null and void for Armenia and it is poised to void the protocols by Spring.

As to the sanctions against Russia, Manoyan suggested they would never reach the scope of those imposed on Iran. Provided the limited scope of those restrictions, they may not pose threat to Armenia's security, the speaker said, adding, however, the determination of the U.S-Russian relations is no way in Armenia's interests.
