Russia to ban milk and dairy products imports from Belarus
Russia will place temporary restrictions on imports of milk and some dairy products from Belarus from February 26, the Russian agricultural safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said on Thursday.
The watchdog said some of the products were unsafe, Reuters reported.
"Taking into account the need to ensure product safety, Rosselkhoznadzor is considering more effective measures, including imposition of restrictions on certain types of dairy products," the watchdog said, according to TASS.
As of February 20, 2018, Rosselkhoznadzor already registered 32 cases of violations of veterinary and sanitary standards and requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and Russia in Belarusian milk and dairy products.
