Outgoing Italian Ambassador says Armenia with its ancient history became close to his heart
Italy is an exemplary country in terms of democracy and parliamentary government, Speaker of the Armenian parliament Ara Babloyan stated on Wednesday at a meeting with Ambassador of Italy to Armenia Giovanni Ricciulli, who is completing the diplomatic mission in Armenia.
As the parliament press service reported, Ara Babloyan highly assessed the Ambassador's activities in the development of the Armenian-Italian relations, pointing to the existence of the Armenian community in Italy and the role of the close cultural ties between the two countries in the deepening of the inter-state ties.
To Ara Babloyan's conviction, there is necessity to enliven the relations between the legislators and boost the work of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups.
Expressing his gratitude to Ara Babloyan for the warm reception, Giovanni Ricciulli noted that Armenia is the last country, where he implements his diplomatic mission. In the Ambassador's word, this country with young statehood, but with ancient history has become close to his heart.
Touching upon the Agreement signed on the previous year with the EU, Giovanni Ricciulli highlighted Armenia's will and desire to join the European community. He expressed hope that the next Ambassador would also love Armenia and would be able to further deepen the relations between the two peoples, as well as states and parliaments.
