Turkish HDP members meet with residents of the Armenian village
Members of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) of Turkey have visited Vakifli, the last remaining Armenian village in Turkey. As Ermenihaber reports, the visit took place in the scope of pre-election campaign ahead of the parliamentary elections in Turkey. The party members who advocate for rights of national minorities in Turkey received warm reception by the residents.
One of party members Leyla Birik has noted Vakifli represents a vivid example for different national communities to live side by side.
One of village residents Jem Chapar has noted at a meeting that the people in the village acknowledge the value of democracy and the population hopes the party will fulfill expectations to establish democracy in Turkey.
