Babloyan, Syllouris discuss prospects for establishing Armenia-Cyprus-Greece parliamentary format
“The visit of the delegation of the House of Representatives of Cyprus to Armenia will have significant input in strengthening and developing of the interstate relations between the two countries,” Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ara Babloyan told reporters after the meeting with President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Dimitris Syllouris.
In Babloyan’s words, the sincere and firm relations established between Armenia, Cyprus results from similarities in history, culture, and value systems.
“We had a fruitful meeting with the Cyprus delegation members, discussed issues related to the Armenian-Cyprus interparliamentary ties. We also reflected on the proposal by the President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus to set up a trilateral format of cooperation in the scope of interparliamentary organizations involving Armenia, Cyprus, and Greece,” Babloyan stressed.
Dimitris Syllouris, in turn, stressed that the meeting was constructive and will contribute to deepening the bilateral relations. “I believe the future belongs to our people with firm foundation of justice and democracy,” Syllouris added.
