Spartak Seyranyan named new ARF faction MP
Armenia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on Thursday convened a special meeting to discuss the matter of issuing a parliamentary mandate and the Yerevan Council of Elders mandates.
CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan announced a decision to terminate the MP mandate of Armen Babayan from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun faction, who will be replaced by Spartak Seyranyan from the same faction.
Babayan gave up his parliamentary seat on 10 May, citing his intention ‘to fully engage in business activities’.
According to the commission’s decision, Viktor Yengibaryan is set to represent Yelk bloc in the Yerevan Council of Elders, taking the place of Eduard Aghajanyan, the newly-appointed chief of government’s staff.
Nelly Ghardyan will replace newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan, while Ruben Rubinyan will take the place of Education Minister Arayik Harutyunyan in the Yerevan Council of Elders.
