Georgian president officially confirms nomination of Mamuka Bakhtadze for prime minister
President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has officially confirmed the nomination of Mamuka Bakhtadze for the country’s premiership. Agenda.ge reported.
The president of Georgia has the ability to reject a candidate put forward by the parliamentary majority.
According to the source, Mamuka Bakhtadze, 36, was nominated by the Georgian Dream ruling party as a candidate for the office of prime minister after former PM Giorgi Kvirikashvili resigned due to controversies on fundamental issues with the ruling party and its head, Bidzina Ivanishvili.
Mamuka Bakhtadze has seven days to form a new government and present it to the parliament.
