Russian servicemen holding planned drill at base in Armenia
The servicemen from the Russian Southern Military District's military base in Armenia kicked off a planned combat drill with involvement of more than 3 thousand militaries, TASS agency reported, citing the district's press service on Monday.
The drills that are held under the Alarm activation will last until July 28 with involvement of more than 500 units of hardware, including air-defense systems, MiG-29 fighter jets, Mi-8MTV and Mi 24P helicopters.
According to the district's statement, several branches of the military, including reconnaissance, artillery, engineering, and tank troops are practicing exercises at Kahgmud and Alagyaz military ranges.
“The servicemen are practicing avoiding strikes of air defense systems of the simulated enemy,” the statement said.
