Parliament speaker vows to continue efforts for Armenia’s democratic development
“I should continue making efforts in order Armenia goes on through democracy, all issues be solved in the atmosphere of dialogue, negotiations and discussions, protecting the country from possible shocks,” Speaker of the Armenian parliament Ara Babloyan stated today at a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States Richard Mills, who visited the parliament on the completion of his diplomatic mission.
As the parliament press service reports, Babloyan expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the efforts aimed at the development of the Armenian-American relations, the fruitful and effective work done during these years and wished him successes in his further activities.
the head of the parliament highly appreciated the support shown by the U.S. through many years in strengthening of democracy, and the reforms being implemented in different spheres.
During the meeting the sides touched upon the recent events in Armenia. In this context Ara Babloyan has underscored that during the international meetings, he as RA NA Speaker, permanently urges his colleagues to assist the RA new government for further developing and strengthening democracy in the country.
Thanking for the warm words the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia said: “I greatly appreciate the fruitful cooperation our countries have enjoyed during my time as the U.S. Ambassador to Armenia. I am confident that the United States government will continue to support the Armenian people in their path towards a strong and independent Parliament.”
