Deputy Chief of the General Staff: Situation under control at the Line of Contact
The situation across the Line of Contact is under control, Andranik Makaryan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia told reporters on Friday.
In the words of the Major-General, no extraordinary incidents are observed: “Any encroachment will be countered with adequate response and punishment,” added Makaryan.
To note, today was the third and final day of Armenian-Russian joint military exercises, that were held at Baghramyan training ground. The goal of the exercise was to apply different types of warfare, test the readiness of the troops when carrying out decisive actions, to harmonize the units throughout the operations as well as test the level of the troops’ morale, combat and psychological qualities.
“In case of a threat to the territory of the Republic of Armenia from any direction, we are ready to apply relevant measures and use all available forces assigned to ensure the security of the state, including the RA Armed Forces divisions and military bases,” Makaryan said.
