Armenian government approves bill to hold sessions behind open doors
The Armenian government approved on Thursday a draft law that would make all sessions public.
Under the current law, Cabinet meetings are generally held behind closed doors, with the prime minister set to decide whether to hold some of them in open-door format or not, Meantime, the prime minister is set to sign not only the decisions adopted by the PM or government, but also their annexes.
The new law proposes open-door Cabinet sessions, authorizing the prime minister to decide whether to hold some sessions behind closed doors or not.
Under the new measure, the annexed decisions of the PM and government will be signed by the chief of the prime minister’s staff, which is expected to make the processes more productive and rapid.
