Singapore’s Prime Minister cancels meeting with Putin due to his late arrival
Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Singapore on November 13 to attend the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders’ summit as well as East Asia Summit.
On November 13, Putin was due to meet with Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, but the latter canceled the talks because of Putin's late arrival. The officials met one day later, on November 14.
According to Deutsche Welle, at the ASEAN summit Putin had to walk through a metal detector. This was really a unique situation because usually there is a separate entry for the heads of the states and they are not subject to security control.
