Expert says inadmissible to make ‘inconsiderate statements’ regarding Iran
Expert in Iran Vardan Voskanyan says any inconsiderate statement about Iran is inadmissible as they may hurt the Iranian-Armenian relations. To remind, MP at Armenian National Assembly from the ruling “My Step” bloc Hayk Konjoryan described Iran as a country of “authoritarian nature” at a speech on Wednesday.
“I think we can not refer to Iran as merely a neighboring state. We are actually dealing with a friendly state, Armenia develops comprehensive relations with. At the political level, Iran is one of the few regional countries we are enjoying high-level relations. Those inconsiderate statements are inadmissible,” Voskanyan told Panorama.am when asked to comment on Konjoryan’s statement.
In the words of the expert, although the statement was made by one person, those kinds of utterances contain significant risks.
He next advised before speaking of the Islamic state, consult with experts, get familiarized with the state administration of the country, its multilayered and complex structure, considering also the dominatant weight in the region throughout centuries.
Asked about the possible consequences and reactions from the Iranian side, considering the fact that Konjoryan represents the ruling bloc, Voskanyan said the remarks was ‘formulated in a inconsiderate and faulty way,” and ruling bloc itself does not share the position and the statement made by an individual member.
“I think the Iranian side will also show understanding, attributing it to the lack of inexperience and knowledge,” Voskanyan concluded.
