PM Pashinyan received Georgian minister of defense
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received today the Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Izoria, who has arrived to Armenia on official visit. As the government press service reports, the PM highlighted the expansion of the brotherly relations between the two countries. Pashinyan recalled his meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze in January in Bolnisi, saying the existing friendly working atmosphere between Armenia, Georgia will contribute to the expansion of the bilateral cooperation.
The parties stressed the importance of reciprocal high-level visits.
Levan Izoria, in turn, attached importance to the meeting with his Armenian counterpart Davit Tonoyan and the signing of the 2019 cooperation plan in the defense sector as a result of the meeting. In the minister’s words, Georgia is interested to deepen and enhance relations with friendly Armenia and remains committed to continue the efficient partnership.
The parties discussed the Armenian-Georgian cooperation in the area of defense and issues pertinent to the regional security. PM Pashinyan valued Georgia’s balanced approach to regional conflicts, while Georgian minister said his country attaches importance to the establishment of friendly relations in the region and backs efforts aimed at peaceful settlements of the conflict.
