Nikol Pashinyan extends condolences to Iraqi Prime Minister over ferry sinking victims
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sent a message of condolence to Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi following the tragic incident in Mosul, over the sinking of a ferry in the Tigris River, in which dozens of people died,
“I was deeply grieved to learn of the tragic incident in Mosul which claimed about a hundred human lives. At this difficult moment, we express our solidarity with you and the friendly people of Iraq. I offer my condolences to the victims’ families, wishing them patience and fortitude, and the injured – a speedy recovery,” the message reads, press department at the government reported.
To remind, the ferry sank near Mosul earlier on Thursday. According to early reports, it could have been heavily overloaded. According to Arab TV channels, between 170 and 250 people could have been on board the ferry with a capacity of 75 passengers. According to updated reports by Sky News Arabia news channel, the death toll has reached 85.
