Hard to choose between two friends - Pashinyan about Crimea
A dialogue should prevail in addressing all types of conflicts, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pahsinyan stated on Thursday while responding to a question by PACE delegate from Ukraine Volodimir Ariyev about belonging of Crimea.
Ariyev greeted Pashinyan in Armenian and asked in short to whom Crimea belongs. The Ukrainian MP then asked whether Armenia plans to revise its approach to Crimea, as previously the country had declined to support the UN resolution condemning the Russian recognition of the peninsula as part of its territory.
“There is no conflict in the world I would think about settling through resorting to violence, and I strongly believe that international platforms and stages should be used following this logic. In many cases we are in conflicting situations when friendly countries to us are divided across conflicting lines. It is quite hard to make a choice between a friend and a friend. There are occasions you have nothing but make such a choice. yet the general choice we are for is about the peace, dialogue, stability, and development,” the PM explained.
