Armenian Foreign Ministry: Azerbaijan again violates OSCE commitments
The OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs are expected to pay a visit to the region in late May to discuss the upcoming steps and programs, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan told a news conference on Tuesday. She said the mediators are set to travel to Yerevan, Stepanakert and Baku.
Asked to comment on a possible meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Baku, she said the co-chairs have proposed to organize such a meeting pending for clarification of technical details.
“In particular, the host country is to specify the venue and timeframes of the meeting for us to issue coordinated statements about it. Given the geography of the previous meetings – Paris, Moscow – the upcoming meeting is possible to take place in Washington,” she said.
The spokesperson next denounced Azerbaijan for holding undeclared large-scale military drills as another violation of the OSCE commitments.
“Holding undeclared military exercises amounts to a violation of the OSCE commitments. It no way contributes to the formation of an atmosphere of trust and peace in the region,” Naghdalyan said. “Armenia’s permanent representative to the OSCE will raise the issue at a session tomorrow.”
