Suren Papikyan elected as Chairman of the Board of Civil Contract party
Armenian Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Suren Papikyan was elected as Chairman of the ruling Civil Contract party governing board. The election came during the party’s fifth convention on Sunday when new members of the party board were elected through a closed score voting.
In total, 51 candidates ran for the 21 seats on the Board. According to the results, PM Nikola Pashinyan, Minister of Education, Science, Sport and Culture Arayik Harutyunyan, Speaker of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan, Minister of Healthcare Arsen Torosyan were reelected Board members. .
Some of the previous members of the governing board, including former Chairman Sasun Mikayelyan and Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Lena Nazaryan were not elected as Board members.
