Chief of the Armed Forces speaks of upcoming priorities for army supply
The supply of military technical equipment to army is a series of events that is gradually improved, the Chief of the General Staff of Armenian Armed Forces Artak Davtyan told reporters at a briefing on Saturday.
Davtyan’s comments came at a request to comment on the technical equipment of the border. The top military official noted that most of the video surveillance cameras installed at the border have been replaced with newest products with improved monitoring capabilities.
“The set requirements are constantly changing and apart from electro-optical devices, we are developing a radio navigation network,” said Davtyan, adding those serviceman who are specialized in technical science and have relevant skills are enrolled in exploiting the new technology.
As to the new armament, Davtyan said the supply of large number of army weapons continue according to the signed contracts with delivery underway and scheduled for the next year.
“Those supplies refer to anti-defense and anti-missile systems, long range systems, a precision-guided munition. We also plan to enhance the capabilities of intelligent systems in the Armed Forces,” added the Chief of the General Staff.
