Foreign Ministry: Armenia supports one-China principle
Armenia supports the principle of one-Chin and has no and will not establish relations with Taiwan, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Anna Naghdalyan told a news conference on Friday.
Her comments came in response to a question about Armenia’s position on the possible participation of Taiwan in the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) 2019 to be held in Yerevan in October.
“Armenia also supports the development of peaceful relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait,” she said.
Separately, commenting on the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Israel, the spokesperson said there are good grounds for developing relations with Israel and there is a bilateral commitment to tap the existing potential.
"By opening a diplomatic representation in Israel, we once again establish ourselves in a region where we have primary interests," Naghdalyan said, adding that steps were being taken in this direction.
