Kutoyan’s body was found by wife – Artur Melikyan

The body of the former head of Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) was found by his wife, the Head of Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases at Investigative Committee Artur Melikyan told reporters. In his words, investigative actions are currently carried out at the scene which would probably take long. In his words, when the representatives of the Investigative Committee arrived at the scene Kutoyan’s wife and father were in the apartment.

“They are in a situation that are unable to speak,” Melikyan said, adding details of the incident and the course of the investigation will be provided later.

To remind, former Head of Armenia’s National Security Service was found dead with a gunshot wound in his apartment on Yerevan’s Paruyr Sevak Street on Friday, the Investigative Committee reported.

Representatives of the Investigative Committee have headed to the scene upon the instruction of its Chairman Hayk Grigoryan. Kutoyan served as National Security Service chief between 2016 and 2018. He was 39 years old.
