Dzoragyugh village placed on total lockdown after an infected local attends a funeral service
The exits and entries to Armenia’s Dzoragyugh village in Gegharkunik province will be shut down at the decision of the Commandant, PM Nikol Pashinyan informed on Facebook.
As the PM detailed, the decision came after one of the residents contracted a virus in a neighboring village and then attended a funeral service in his home village. As a result, 63 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Dzoragyugh.
The PM next reminded of another recent case when citizens from Hrazdan town attended a funeral in Ddmashen village, and more than 100 individuals with whom they had contact were infected. Following the incident, six adjacent communities were placed under quarantine.
“Dear citizens, respect the human lives, do not violate anti-epidemic rules,” Pashinyan wrote.
To note, according to the Commandant’s decision, there are restrictions on the number of persons that can participate in a funeral procession.
