Expert: Joint Turkish-Azerbaijani media platform opens up big opportunities for Armenians
The plan to form a joint Turkish-Azerbaijani media platform to fight the so-called “black propaganda” opens up big opportunities for the Armenians worldwide, according to Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the Yerevan-based Henaket think tank.
“Given the fact that Turkey and Azerbaijan have recently outlined their joint priorities in foreign policy, security and economy, this is another harmonization that fits into the logic of joint Turkish-Azerbaijani policy,” he said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
The expert highlighted the key role of information policy in a hybrid war.
“That media platform has the function of disseminating information amid the ongoing hybrid war, and in case of escalation of border tensions or military operations, it will naturally secure the military component, with Turkey's highly active engagement and the mobilization of common information resources,” he wrote.
"This Turkish-Azerbaijani initiative opens up a wide front for Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora. It undoubtedly existed before the latest event, but today, more than ever, we have a task to consolidate the information potential in the Armenian reality as much as possible to make it serve the common agenda," the expert said.
