Servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent held a humanitarian action and provided food for the children of boarding school No. 1 in Stepanakert in Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh).

As the press service at the Russian Defense Ministry reported, in the course of the events, the Young Cook competition was organized and held, in which children with disabilities from disadvantaged and low-income families living in remote areas of Artsakh took part.  Pupils of the boarding school competed in the culinary art of baking homemade pies from dough.

“We have events every week.  Before that, we had a pizza contest. We are very glad that you were present in the second event of the competition for the best pies, delicious pies, in which the peacekeepers took part.  We are very happy. We will cooperate with you. We will invite you here to every event," said Amest Simonyan, the director of the boarding school. “I think that we will help each other to make the children better.  We now have 18 children here.  Basically, these are children from socially disadvantaged families between the ages of 7 and 18,” she said, as quoted by the source.

It is noted that Russian peacekeepers in the jury took a sample and appreciated the appearance and taste of the culinary products, as well as the teamwork of the young chefs during their preparation.

Also, as part of the humanitarian action, Russian peacekeepers donated about 1 ton of humanitarian aid to the boarding school, including children's toys, books, stationery, kitchen and food sets.
