‘It’s football, sometimes it's unfair’, says Armenian national team manager after Liechtenstein clash
The head coach of the Armenian national football team, Joaquín Caparrós, said “Lady Luck did not smile” on his team at the FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Liechtenstein on Wednesday.
Group J’s match between Armenia and Liechtenstein played in Yerevan ended in a 1-1 draw.
"We didn’t win because we needed to score more goals, but we could not do it. The opponent attacked once and scored a goal. It’s football, sometimes it's unfair,” Caparrós told a post-match press conference.
He said that they tried to attack from both sides, but it was not effective, adding, in a sense, “Lady Luck did not smile” on them.
"Every game is like a final for us. I am sure that we can still fight and produce a good performance," the manager said.
