Unique exhibition marks Armenian novelist Alexander Shirvanzade's 165th anniversary
A unique temporary exhibition has been launched at the Museum of Literature and Art after Yeghishe Charents in Yerevan to mark the 165th birth anniversary of prominent Armenian novelist and playwright Alexander Shirvanzade.
The exhibition features invitation cards to jubilee events dedicated to Shirvanzade's literary and creative activities in different years, as well as messages, archival photos, letters, gifts, etc.
"We have repeatedly addressed Shirvanzade’s legacy. We have his complete archive which is on display in our permanent exposition. I was pondering what to display on this anniversary to make it interesting and unique. I found out that there were a lot of materials dedicated to the 30th anniversary of his creative activity in 1911 and the 50th anniversary of his activity during the Soviet period,” Marine Haroyan, Scientific Secretary of the Yeghishe Charents Museum, told Panorama.amon Thursday.
During his lifetime, Shirvanzade presented a large part of his archive and furniture to the museum. A part of the permanent exposition at the museum is dedicated to the writer, displaying his study as precisely as possible.
