Pashinyan: Azerbaijan's position key obstacle to establishment of relations between Armenia and Turkey
The main obstacle to establishment of relations between Armenia and Turkey is Azerbaijan's position, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Friday.
"I believe that now the key obstacle to the establishment of relations between Armenia and Turkey is Azerbaijan's position," Pashinyan told a discussion on “Security and Stability in the South Caucasus: Armenia's Perspective" in Berlin.
Pashinyan claimed that Azerbaijan “is constantly urging Turkey not to establish relations with Armenia.” He reiterated Armenia’s readiness to open the border with Turkey anytime.
"We have taken a crucial step. As I said, our humanitarian aid reached Turkey across the border. Of course, our reaction and position was absolutely based on a humanitarian approach, but if the decision to send humanitarian aid to Turkey also has some political implications, we will be happy about it," Pashinyan said.
