Court in Yerevan rejects police lawsuit against oppositionist
The Administrative Court in Yerevan has rejected a lawsuit filed by the police against Karen Vrtanesyan, an expert on military and warfare strategies who is highly critical of the Armenian government.
The legal claim accused Vrtanesyan of defying a police order during the September 2023 demonstrations in Yerevan and urged the court to bring him to administrative liability.
"The court rejected the lawsuit simply because the police failed to provide any evidence that police officers issued a lawful order or that I committed any wrongdoing,” he wrote on Facebook on Friday.
