Pashinyan signals more defeats ahead, MP warns
Opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan has reacted to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent comments on Armenia’s defeat in the 2020 war with Azerbaijan.
At a meeting with the Armenian American community on Monday, Pashinyan claimed that after the 2020 war defeat, Armenia “gained the opportunity to have an independent and sovereign state.”
“As strange as it may sound to some segments of society, the current leadership's logic suggests that the more defeats Armenia suffers, the greater the chance that it is on the ‘right track’,” Abrahamyan wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
"According to Pashinyan’s 'ironclad logic', the more we lose, the stronger our independence and sovereignty become. Pashinyan is laying out his vision for Armenia’s future – not only foreshadowing further defeats, but also justifying his own significant role in them,” Abrahamyan stated.
