Artsakh premiere of Verdi’s Requiem to be held in Renaissance Square of Stepanakert
The premiere of Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem is scheduled for September 1 in Renaissance Square of Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh (the Nagorno Karabakh Republic), on the occasion of Artsakh’s Independence Day. The premiere is organized under the high patronage of Armenian President’s spouse Rita Sargsyan, with the support of NKR Ministry of Culture and Youth Affairs.
The project’s author is Sarine Avtandilyan, its artistic director is Lyubov Kazarnovskaya, and conductor is Anatoly Levin, the press office of the project said.
The participants in Artsakh premiere of Verdi’s Requiem also include: State Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia with its artistic director and principal conductor Edward Topchyan, State Academic Choir of Armenia with its artistic director and principal conductor Hovhannes Chekijyan, ‘Vararakn’ State Chamber Choir of Artsakh and its artistic director and conductor Nina Grigoryan, and ‘Mrakats’ State Chamber Choir of Artsakh and its artistic director and conductor Marine Mersrobyan.
