Iran’s oil minister: Iranian oil flow to European countries to be halted

Iranian oil export to European countries will be halted; Iranian “MEHR” news agency quotes Iran’s Minister of Oil Rostam Ghasemi as saying in a news conference.

The Iranian senior statesman has urged members of the “Organization Exporting Oil” to respect their mutual rights in the field of international oil market.

Rostam Ghasemi is quoted as saying that Iran’s Mejlis and the Government are in accord over suspending Iranian oil to the European countries.

Earlier, Seyyed Emad Hosseyn from energy commission of Iran’s Mejlis has declared that the MPs have submitted a resolution which will ban oil sale to Europe if approved.

On January 23 EU member states have decided to postpone Iranian oil embargo until July. Iran’s oil is being imported into Japan (14%), South Korea (10%), China (22%), some Asian countries (12%), India (13%), South Africa (4%), Spain (6%), Italy (7%), Turkey (7%), some EU states (5%).
