Georgia to try to balance relations with neighbors, West and Russia: expert
In the foreseeable future, it is hard to imagine that NATO will accept Georgia as its member, taking into account the Russian factor as well, an expert on Georgia, Alik Eroyan, told reporters today, adding that the representative of NATO Secretary General also hinted at that.
According to him, Armenia should closely follow Georgia-US and Georgia-Russia developments at various levels.
“Georgia will try to balance relations with its neighbors, the West and Russia,” he noted.
As regards Baku’s response, Eroyan said that any relation that may take place between Georgia and Armenia as well as Georgia and Russia stirs Baku’s resentment and causes it to take practical steps.
Speaking about the possibility of Iranian gas delivery to Georgia, he said that Russia, Iran and Georgia expressed a high-level readiness, meaning that Russian gas may be supplied to Georgia, while Iran will deliver gas to Armenia.
